The international tamburello federation (Fédération Internationale de Balle au Tambourin, FIBaT) was established by the Italian and French national Federations in 1988, to organize the international tamburello events and in order to promote the tamburello all over the world.

The place and date of establishment: Sanremo (Italy), 25 October 1987.
